Carola Remer on the cover of Turkish Vogue July 2012

Have a look at my latest Vogue cover. With the beautiful Carola Remer. I used really blonde extensions mixed in with her own brown hair to give the affect of light shining in the hair. It also created a blonde border along the bottom edge of her hair.

Keira Knightley Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World Premier LA.

So yesterday I had the pleasure of getting Miss Knightley one of my fav clients and friends, ready for the LA premier of Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World. Which by the way was a film I enjoyed very much so if you get the chance go and see it.
For Keira's look I was inspired by the softness of the dress which was a floral Valentino. I wanted her to look like a princess.
To achieve this look I blow-dried the hair with some mousse and thinking spray to give a nice texture to the hair. I then spiral curled small sections of hair with a small curling iron to give the hair a nice wave. I then sprayed Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray into the roots of the hair to give the fluffy soft romantic texture I wanted. I then took sections of hair and loosely twisted and pinned them into place until all the hair was pinned up. I then pulled out pieces of hair around the face and nape to soften the look even more. To finish the look I added a Chanel red floral head band. To fix the hair in place I sprayed the whole head with hairspray.
I think this look is very soft and regal and can be achieved on any length of hair!!!!!

Fall Winter Hair trends for 2012

So its that time of year AGAIN!!!!! TRENDS. Sorry I have been a little slow in getting this post up but what with going to India with Katy Perry and trips to London, Miami and LA I have been a little busy......

Here go's my first trend is fringes or BANGS for you Americans. I was happy to see the blunt fringe making a come back this season. This is a look that can be adjusted to suit anyone depending on how long or short you wish to ware it. The big three that showed this look were Antonio Berardi, Versace and Elie Saab.

 Berardi
 Versace
 Versace
 Elie Saab

My second trend is following on from last seasons wet and shinny hair. But this season its all about strong slick side parts as seen at Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, DKNY also Jill Sander where it was slightly softer worn over the top of the ear and Giambattista Valli where it was a half up half down affair!!!!!

 Bottega
 Calvin
 DKNY
Jill Sander

Giambattista Valli

Most of the above looks were pulled back into Slick Ponytails. Which I'm sure from reading my blog you will know I'm a big pony fan. And other designers such as Erdem and Dior had slick ponys without the parts too.

 Calvin
 Erdem
 Jill Sander
Dior

Trend three is buns as you know the bun is always around in some shape or forum. This season they were either slick and twisted as seen at YSL and Rick Owens.

YSL

Or loser and softer as seen at Mary Katrantzou, Dolce and Stella.

For my fourth trend, Hair accessories made an appearance on the runways such as stars at Rodarte, head bands with lace and flowers at Dolce, barrettes at Rochas and  scarfs as hair ties at Giles.

 Rodarte
 Rochas
 Dolce
Giles

And there was even using your own hair or hair as an accessory!!!! As seen at Pucci and Fendi.

And of course my trends round up would not be complete without the weird and wonderful trends. Comme had bright colored short wigs. John Paul Gaultier had color sprayed punk inspired partings and Prada had colored bleeding in the ends of the hair. And over at Mc Q they had hair as hats!!!!!

Well that completes my round up of the Fall Winter trends for 2012. I hope you find my selection inspiring. Which ever of the trends you decide to try remember hair is there to have fun with be bold and step outside the norm........
